Notes, April 2021

These are loose notes that are updates on existing ideas under this to-do section.  I'm drafting this separately from the old notes to insure that the freshest ideas get listed, untainted by outlines I haven't looked at in sometime, before going back to those old notes.  Ordering of these notes is loose and not properly outlined on purpose.  And, of course, this then must be a draft and riddled with grammarical problems and logical errors.

  1. Human development encodes neurons with a World View from the cultural environment.
  2. The Western World View includes the Jealous God Problem.
  3. We don't deal well with not knowing.
  4. Thinking exists to model aspects of our environment for the purpose of survival and cannot duplicate reality exactly, nor can thinking contain all of reality--thus all knowledge is a sub-set of imprecise impressions of reality.
  5. There is no way of proving that any knowledge is complete, as the epistomological basis for any knowledge cannot be proven to be complete--all all knowledge is incomplete.
  6. For-profit factions exploit our need to have a belief.
  7. The Jealous God Problem imbues us with a need to discard alternate views.
  8. Science is also pressured to discard alternate views--and oppose views not based in the evidence that Science can provide (particularly when the opposing views oppose Science--which is when Science is most justified to get into the habit of opposing alternate views).
  9. Free will is not supported by what Science can show, and Science is forced to limit its thinking to determinism (though things get messy with quantum physics).
  10. Functional purpose derived from evolutionary Science can not properly support Free Will as having a functional purpose (a la Daniel Dennet's Free-Floating Rational)--particularly without clashing with the Scientific Method.
  11. Science is having an identity crisis in quantum physics.
  12. Quantum physics has made observations that are non-deterministic when the essense of determinism can be found in the Scientific Method.  I.E. experiments in Quantum Physics have determined conditions in which non-deterministic phenomena can be caused.  Quantum Physics gets messy when trying to get to the mechanisms that allow non-deterministic behaviors to be cuased under well-defined conditions.
  13. Free will cannot be what we would hope if there is nothing identifiable in the brain that can be a cause that selects between mulitple possibilites--such that those not selected never become realized and therefore can never be measured as truly possible (allowing that predictions from the Mathematics of Statistics and Probability do not necessarily identify anything that exists as a physical reality--as such mathematics only provide a model [framework] for predicting what will actually be determined by a particular set of conditions).
  14. I am forced against my will to be a compatibilist.
  15. Evolution is an elegant algorithm that is worthy of experimentation by any inventor.  Only those trapped in a World View that requires opposing alternate views would deny this of any ultimate inventor.  Therefore, evolution is compatible with any creation story involving an intelegent designer.
